No Database Connection Found

Postby bruno05 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 8:57 pm

Hi,

My manual installation on GoDaddy went fine. I get the login screen when I go into the system. When I use the root user and password, this is the error I get...So was my installation successful? and Why am I getting this error. I was able to get past the installation screens and to this page by following the method on another thread and by changing the conf.php-distribution file to conf.php and putting in the database parameters. Here is the error message. I could use the standard installation from GoDaddy, but they only have version 2.2 and that did not get good reviews and is missing functionality that I want.

Error

Hi Bruno,

I tried the url and tried the username and password as admin.
Since the password is wrong it said, invalid login.
Do you get the error when you used the correct username and password?

If you still getting the error, it can be due to few reasons.

a) MySQL isn't running (in which case the socket file won't exist)
... OR ...
b) The Linux user doesn't have permissions to access the file

Option a) would not be your problem.
Pls contact Godaddy support and tell them the problem.
Since you don't have access directly to the server through SSH they are the ones who can fix this.
Following pages explains the issue in detail and how to fix this.

Please post the result after any attempts to solve this.
