change leave period to next year

hi,, i'm currently using OrangeHRM 2.6.1..

and how can i change the leave period into the next year?

what is leave brought forward and carried forward?

what is available flag?

i would be glad if anyone can reply my topic,, thank you

Hi haruya,
1.Changing the leave period is a automatic task.
it takes the current server date to calculate the current leave period.
so, you can change the leave period by changing the system date of the server.

2. leave carried forward -> if an employee have some leaves remaining in a leave type that has 'leave carried forward' enabled, in the date of Carry forward,
system will add those remaining leaves to the next year, same leave type. (considering rules such as 'Maximum number of leave to carry forward', etc).
that added amount can be seen as 'leave brought forward' in that next leave period leave summery and will be added to the that year entitlement.

3. available flag -> a flag that maintains for get active leave types. system will only show the leave types that have available flag sets to true, in apply leave etc.

another thing i want to ask is about the leave carried forward..

when you said about leave brought forward, its about the remaining leave in a year and it will be added to the next year leave allotted..

so,, the leave carried forward mean what will you do to the remaining leave ?

Actually, carried forward means no. of leaves that has been send to the next leave period, will marked in current leave period.
brought forward is the same value that marked in the next leave period, states the no of leaves that have been taken from the previous leave period.

Example: date- 31-12-2012
leave period - 01-01-2012 - 31-12-2012 (current)
leave brought forward - 0 (from prev. year)
leave entitled - 12
Total entitled - 12+0 =12
leave taken - 8
balance - 4 (will be send to next year)
Leave Carry Forward (To Next Leave Period) = balance - 4
-----------------------------------
date- 31-12-2013
leave period - 01-01-2013 - 31-12-2013 (next)
leave brought forward - 4 (from prev. year)
leave entitled - 10
Total entitled - 10+4 =14
leave taken - 11
balance - 3 (will be send to next year)
Leave Carry Forward (To Next Leave Period) = balance - 3

Hi,

I have been checking the same issue for my internal hrm site.

I have tried checking by changing the local system time and date (where the local instance of orangehrms installed).

I am able to see the automatic update of current leave period but not the leave quota values for each employee. And I have tried to save leave quota values from "leave summary " (admin) for few employees and it is giving me "failed to save" error.

Please let me know how can I see automatic update of leave quota with leave carried forward to next year (which is leave brought forward in the new year).
