Mysql won't run

I installed the one step install version 2.6 of Orange HRM and it was working fine for a while. Now when I try to log on, I get the error message:

Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) MySQL Error # :2003

When I click on the XAMPP control panel and click start beside MySQL, I get a windows message saying that MySQL has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Any ideas?

MySQL is free, and even for business users is very cost effective.I I must say is very easy to use and understand. I'm happy and made me successful projects with this database.
