LDAP Login

Postby ssrini » Thu Feb 15, 2007 10:22 am

We are considering OrangeHRM for an internal implementation for our company of 15 people. All our logins are linked to LDAP and OrangeHRM not supporting LDAP is a major issue for us.

Any idea when this feature will be implemented ?

Hi,

Currently this is not on our roadmap. However, we've been getting a number of requests for this feature. So we will consider including this in future releases. However, I cannot see this being implemented before April.

Also, have a look at our Wiki (http://www.orangehrm.com/app/wiki/index.php/Orange_Future#LDAP_Integration) where previous users have defined this feature. Feel free to edit this with more information to suite your requirements.

Himath

Hi Himath

Thanks for teh reply. Based on your response, we will go ahead with the implementation of OrangeHRM now and live with manual logins for now. Once the feature is available in Q2 we would love to migrate to that.

The LDAP requirement is a fairly simple one, and the Wiki requirement is sufficient for that. In fact this requirement should be high on your agenda since any enterprise small/medium/big would want to have one authentication mechanism for all their systems and in the non-propreitary world that would be LDAP. Our employees would login from primarily Windows w/s (Kerberos authentication) to LDAP and use the ESS and other modules.

What about using LDAP for login and to populate the employee records?

There would be a configurable way to link LDAP fields with employee fields, and would be nice an 'Refresh' button, so the data in OrangeHRM get refreshed with the data from LDAP.

Thank you for your great work.

Francisco

LDAP

Try using Perl DBD::LDAP

You can query your LDAP tree and insert it into the database.

Write yourself a script you can execute with a shell script and then you can chron an update.

Could somebody paste the script they are using to import their LDAP info? I know that this is on the development map but I'd like to at least get the usernames imported.

Thanks.

Could somebody email me the code to use the LDAP for authentication? Or is it possible to locate me at the download location?

Hello all,

We do offer the LDAp plug in now. You can subscribe to a reasonable fee and get your own LDAP today. Please visit http://www.orangehrm.com/addon-plans.shtml for further details.

We have installed Orange HRM for our Business without the hosting or support package.
We wish to add LDAP functionality as described and are interested in buying the LDAP plugin (Add-on Plans).

I have 2 questions about this:
1) Is it possible to buy the plugin without subscribing to a supportplan?
2) Does the plugin give LDAP access to the ESS as described in this post?
Or also for the admin, PIM or other modules.

Main reason for us to implement this is to allow access and alteration for normal users to their timesheets and to request Days-off and Leaves.
We do not explicit need LDAP access for our Admin and HR group.

Thanks,
Andre
